Warm & Woody Fragrances

If you love a home that feels cozy and grounded, our warm & woody fragrances are a beautiful place to start .

Each of these warm scents has its own character, so the easiest way to choose is to start with the notes you’re naturally drawn to.

Tre and Vaniglia lean soft and warm, with amber and vanilla. Como feels a little fresher, with cypress and sandalwood, while Caldo is the earthiest of the four, with patchouli and sandalwood.

Caldo

Notes of Amber, Patchouli, and Sandalwood

Caldo is warmer, deeper, and a little more enveloping. It is one of my personal favorites, especially in a living room or bedroom where I want the space to feel grounded and inviting.

Como

Notes of Cypress, Italian Bergamot, and Sandalwood

Como is the most layered fragrance of the group. Crisp cypress and Italian bergamot are softened by rose and grounded with sandalwood and amber, giving it a fresh, woody character. I created Como to celebrate Alora's 25th year, as a tribute to Lake Como, where it all began.

Tre

Notes of Mandarin, Vanilla, and Amber

Tre is one of our three original fragrances, and it's the one I love most for the transition to fall. Amber and vanilla give it warmth, while a touch of mandarin keeps it from feeling overly sweet. I especially love it in the kitchen.

Vaniglia

Notes of Vanilla and Jasmine

Vaniglia is built around a mellow vanilla bouquet with a hint of jasmine, so it feels both familiar and a little unexpected. It’s warm and delicious without smelling like a dessert.

What Are Warm & Woody Scents?

Warm scents are built around rich notes like vanilla and amber, which give a fragrance its depth and comfort.

Woody scents bring in notes like sandalwood, cypress, and patchouli, which keep warmer fragrances feeling balanced.

The two don’t always have to go together, but they pair beautifully and work well side by side in different rooms.

Caldo is one of my favorite warm fragrances for the living room.

Como, which is a little fresher and woodier, I love keeping near the entry.

The right scent is the one that makes your home feel the way you want it to.

Where Each Scent Feels at Home

There are no rules when it comes to home fragrance, but these are the rooms where I think each of these warm scents feels most at home.

Living Room

Caldo is the fragrance I often use in my own living room. Its amber, patchouli, and sandalwood make the space feel inviting, especially on cooler evenings.

Kitchen

Tre adds a delicious warmth to a kitchen, and its touch of mandarin keeps it bright enough to sit alongside the everyday smells of cooking.

Bedroom

Vaniglia's vanilla and soft hint of jasmine make it a gentle choice for a bedroom. If you'd like something deeper and earthier, Caldo is lovely here, too.

Entryway

I like something a little fresher and woodier near the entry, which is where I keep Como. Crisp cypress and bergamot make a beautiful first impression as you walk in.

My Favorite Scents For Autumn and Winter

I love changing the fragrance in my home with the seasons, just as I change what I cook and wear. As the air turns cooler, I gravitate toward notes that add warmth and depth.

Tre: Amber and vanilla make this the fragrance I love most for the transition to fall.

Como: Cypress and sandalwood feel right at home as the leaves start to turn.

Caldo: Patchouli and sandalwood give it an earthier, woodier side I reach for once the weather turns cold.

Vaniglia: Vanilla makes this one soft and inviting for the colder months.

Choosing Your Reed Diffuser Size

The 16 oz diffuser doesn't create a stronger scent. It simply lasts longer, which makes it a nice choice if you'd like to enjoy a fragrance through the whole season.
How long your diffuser lasts can also depend on where it sits and how you use it.
The 16oz Reed Diffuser

The 16oz Reed Diffuser

Lasts about 3–5 months.

It can be hard to know which fragrance you’ll fall in love with just from reading the notes.

If you’re deciding between a few of these best-selling scents, I’d love for you to start with a fragrance sample. Individual samples are $5, or you can try the full fragrance collection to compare several scents at home.

Frequently Asked Questions

A woody fragrance is built around notes that smell earthy, grounded, and natural, like sandalwood, cypress, cedarwood, and patchouli.  They don’t all smell the same. Sandalwood is soft and creamy, cypress is crisp and green, and patchouli is deeper and earthier. In our collection, you'll find woody notes in Caldo and Como.

Not necessarily, although warm scents can feel more noticeable in a room. Some fragrances naturally feel stronger or softer because of their notes. Fragrances with citrus tend to be lighter in a room, while richer notes like vanilla are more noticeable.

Both are warm fragrances built on amber, but they go in different directions.

Caldo adds patchouli and sandalwood, so it’s deeper, earthier, and more wood-forward. Tre pairs vanilla and amber with mandarin, which makes it softer  and brighter.

If you’re drawn to earthy, woody notes, start with Caldo. If vanilla is more your style, Tre is probably the better fit.

Caldo is especially lovely in a bedroom when you want the space to feel grounded and inviting. If you prefer vanilla scents, Vaniglia is a gentle, comforting alternative.

Como is the most sophisticated and layered fragrance in our collection.  Cypress and Italian bergamot give it freshness, softened by rose and grounded with sandalwood and amber.

If you’d like something richer and earthier, Caldo is another beautiful choice for a living room.

A reed diffuser is a lovely option because it’s always on, gently fragrancing the room throughout the day without a flame. For a cozy feel, look for notes like vanilla, amber, sandalwood, or patchouli, which you'll find in Tre, Vaniglia, and Caldo.

Not at all. They’re especially popular in cooler weather, but fragrance is personal. If vanilla, amber, sandalwood, or patchouli are the notes you love, they can feel just as inviting in any season.

Yes. Flipping the reeds controls how noticeable the fragrance is. For a smaller space, flip just one or two reeds for a boost, and if you want the fragrance to be more noticeable, flip them all. Flipping less often keeps the scent more subtle. Placement matters too, so keep your diffuser in an open area where the fragrance can circulate.
